The number of treatment depends upon skin color, hair color and the coarseness of the hair. Typically 6 treatments are required per area with a couple of touch up appointments to clear up any stubborn hairs. Some people may have hormonal factors stimulating their hair growth and will therefore require periodic maintenance treatments.
Treatments on the face are performed every 5-6 weeks. Treatments on the body are every 8 weeks.
Anyone with brown or black hair can expect good results in hair reduction. The darker and coarser the hair, the better the results. Blond, white, grey and red colored hair will not work with laser.
1. Avoid the sun, tanning booths and self tanners. Use of any of these will result in a laser burn.
2. Stop tweezing or waxing. The hair must be present in the skin in order for the follicle to be treated.
However, the hair does not have to be long, so you may shave or trim the length of the hair.
3. No bleaching of the hair for two weeks prior to your appointment.
4. Shave the area if possible. If not, your hair will be trimmed short at your appointment.
